Shmuel Shottan - Shmuel Shottan is an experienced technology executive who served as CTO, SVP Engineering, Product management and as general partner at a corporate VC firm over the years. Shmuel also has a strong board and advisory board experience.
Shmuel has over 40 years' experience in the research and development of hardware and Software, and in engineering management for firms ranging from start-ups where he was a co-founder to Fortune 500 Companies.
In his last corporate position, Shmuel was head of engineering for storage and converged at Hitachi Vantara, where he led multiple development tracks, In Cloud, Storage, IoT, Big Data, AI and Enterprise software. Shmuel Joined Hitachi Vantara through the acquisition of BlueArc, a leading provider of scalable and high-performance network storage solutions, where he served as CTO.
Prior to BlueArc, Shmuel led Engineering and was Chief Strategy Officer for SNAP Appliances, Inc. Previously, Shottan served as general partner of Quantum Technology Ventures. Previously, Shmuel was the senior vice president of engineering and CTO for Quantum's Snap Division. Prior to Snap, Shmuel held engineering development and management positions with Parallan Computer, AST Research, where he led the development of the Manhattan Multiprocessor server, and ICL.
Shmuel served as an advisor to multiple startups, and as board member in a Nasdaq traded public company. He is also active with the IEEE serving as chair at the IEEE Computer Society Industry Advisory Board.
Shmuel holds a BSc.EE from the Technion, Israeli Institute of Technology.
