I have been practicing and teaching yoga for more than 15 years. Yoga is so much more than the physical poses, it is a powerful vehicle for transformation, in the body, in the mind and in the spirit. I observed this first hand working with children and teens with anxiety, severe stress and social/emotional challenges and then at Walter Reed, working with veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury. That is why I pursued the most advanced education in Integrated Movement Therapy, so I could help others make the changes they need to live a full and joyful life.
Integrated Movement Therapy (IMT) is one of the gold standard programs for yoga based clinical therapy. IMT uses yoga techniques, positive psychology, mindfulness, along with other therapeutic evidence-based methods that help people make behavior shifts towards their own optimal well being.
Integrated Movement Therapy addresses the personal needs of the client, ranging from physical illness to stress and anxiety, depression and other health challenges. Each session is a collaboration between the therapist and the client. The goal of every session is to improve optimal wellness, and have the client feel better than when they arrived.
