Mark Donig - Mark Donig is a corporate associate at Covington & Burling in New York, whose practice focuses on emerging companies/venture capital and international corporate law. Mark holds a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law, an M.A. (cum laude) from IDC Herzliya and a B.A. (Public Policy, Ann C. Seminara Award winner) from Stanford University. Mark also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on international human rights, and is a two-time recipient (2017 and 2019) of The Certificate of Special Recognition from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the recipient of the Lloyd R. Sankowich Award from AJC for his humanitarian work empowering and protecting activists in the Middle East and Africa. Mark has managed or served on the teams of multiple successful efforts to bring American hostages held overseas or oppressed pro-West liberal activists to the United States. Mark's writings and co-authorships on democracy, human rights and US foreign policy have been published in Foreign Policy, CNN, American Interest, National Interest, Huffington Post, Times of Israel, Jerusalem Post and elsewhere. Mark serves as the inaugural President of United Hatzalah for Northern California. Additionally, Mark serves on the Board of Directors for AJC San Francisco, the Board of Advisors the UC Berkeley Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies. Mark is also a Young Trustee at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
