Vice President of operations in La Vereda, the Guatemalan subsidiary of Gitano Group. The factory had six hundred thirteen (613) sewing machines inhouse and produced both woven and knit garments for export to the USA market for the Gitano Group customers. Exports to the corporation head office averaged about 15,000 dozen weekly. In 1994 the Gitano Group went bankrupt and the Guatemalan production facility was sold to a Chinese consortium.
Responsibilities included:
a) Head of the production planning department for the in house facilities as well as for the Guatemala and El Salvador subcontractor operations of the company.
b) Follow up of the subcontracted production programs, the efficiency and timeliness of the scheduled production and delivery due dates.
c) Head of the purchasing department in order to comply with the needs to execute all sewing programs both inhouse and subcontracted.
d) Company representative in the twelve member Guatemalan Textile Quota Commission.
The need for direct participation in the textile quota assignment committee was important
as to be updated and influential in the development of Guatemalan textile and garment
exports to the United States of America.

b) Performance follow up of previously approved loans to Peruvian corporations.

Assistant Loan Officer in the Mexico/Central America Area of the International Division. This bank purchased National Bank of North America in June 1983 to achieve a strong participation in the North Eastern geographical area of the U.S. market.
Responsibilities included:
a) Follow up to the bank�s share in the direct and syndicated loans to Private and Public sectors, as part of the Mexican Government debt restructuring. Constant and direct contact and coordination with loan officers and lawyers of other banks was needed in order to achieve a unified position in the debt restructuring process.
b) Follow up to the bank�s participation in direct and syndicated loans to public and private sector companies in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
